THIS is the BIG CALIFORNIA NOISE COMPILATION...the idea behind this compilation was to attempt to get as many sound artists as possible from one State (California) to contribute 2 minutes of material. Ideally I wanted to attempt to include EVERYONE that makes noise and sound art in California.. and I invited well over 300 people/projects that I know of...and in the end we did get a very nice showing..but it does not in anyway include everyone.. (i can think of probably 30 acts that do not appear just off the top of my head!)

This compilation was inspired by the BIG FLORIDA NOISE COMPILATION that was organized by Hal McGee earlier this year.

..this inspired an even larger undertaking.. to attempt to generate noise compilations from EVERY state.. and the ONE NATION UNDER NOISE project was born (www.tif.org/ONUN.html)

i am VERY happy with the results of the BIG CA NOISE COMP.. .the tracks are all awesome.. there are some surprises.. but overall its a great compilation... and a really really fun ride..
